About resin and permeable jointing sand
Resin jointing sand and permeable joint compounds for patios, driveways and walkways that need to drain, and for installs where you cannot wait for a dry weather window. These behave differently from standard polymeric sand and solve two specific problems: drainage and weather.

Permeable Joints
A permeable system lets water pass through the joint into the base rather than running off the surface. Many jurisdictions now require permeable hardscape to manage stormwater, and sealing those joints with standard polymeric sand defeats the entire system.

Rain Safe and Air Cure
Standard polymeric sand needs a dry window after watering, usually 24 hours or more. Air cure and wet weather compounds set without that requirement, so you can install in marginal conditions or when the forecast will not cooperate. On a paid job that is often the difference between working and losing the day.

Cost and Trade Offs
These cost more per square foot than standard polymeric sand. What you buy is weather independence, drainage, or both. For a straightforward patio in good weather with normal drainage, standard polymeric sand is still the sensible choice.
