View full detailsHardscape adhesives for bonding wall caps, block, steps, veneer and vertical stone. These are not general construction adhesives. They are formulated to stay flexible through freeze and thaw, bond to damp masonry, and hold on vertical surfaces without slumping while they cure.
Most hardscape adhesive comes in either a 10 oz cartridge, a 28 oz cartridge or a 20 oz sausage tube. Sausage tubes are more economical per ounce and produce far less waste, but they need a sausage gun rather than a standard caulk gun.
| Situation | What You Need |
|---|---|
| Wall caps and block | Structural polyurethane hardscape adhesive |
| Vertical stone veneer | Instant grab adhesive that holds without slipping |
| Cold or damp conditions | A formula rated for low temperature and damp substrate |
| Fast turnaround | Rapid set adhesive |
| Sausage tubes | Need a matching dispenser gun, standard caulk guns will not fit |
If you are doing a single wall cap run, cartridges are simpler. If you are doing a whole retaining wall or a full veneer job, sausage tubes cut both cost and the number of times you stop to reload. Factor the one time cost of the gun into the first job and it pays for itself quickly.
