SEK Surebond PS1500 Ready to Use Permeable Jointing Compound, 55 lb Pail
Where A Permeable Joint Compound Beats Sand
Polymeric sand seals the joint. That is usually what you want, but on a permeable pavement or a patio where you actually want drainage it works against you. PS1500 fills and locks the joint while leaving it open to water, and the cured compound is hostile to the weeds and insects that colonise an open joint.
- Ready to use and easy to install. No mixing, no dry sweeping, no watering sequence to get wrong.
- Resists weed growth. The main maintenance complaint on open joints.
- Resists insect infestation. Ants in particular.
- Permeable. Water moves through rather than sheeting off.
- Stronger and more durable. SEK positions it as a step up from earlier compounds.
Colors
- Pebble. The lightest of the three.
- Slate. Mid to dark grey.
- Granite. Speckled grey stone tone.

PS1500 Or PolySweep?
PolySweep is a traditional polymeric sand: cheaper per square foot, swept in dry and watered to activate, and it closes the joint. PS1500 costs more, installs ready to use and keeps the joint permeable. If drainage through the joint matters, or the joint is wide and awkward to sweep and water, PS1500 is the one.
