How to use the Techniseal Stone Gun

Techniseal's guide does not publish step-by-step loading instructions, so follow the instructions supplied with your gun. The general sequence for a sausage gun looks like this:

1. Read the adhesive label and data sheet first. Surface preparation, temperature limits and cure times vary by product. Find the latest sheets in our TDS and SDS library.
2. Prepare the surfaces. Clean off dust, loose material and debris so the adhesive bonds to sound material. SRW's catalog guidance for its adhesives is to make sure at least one surface is porous and to always test in a small area first.
3. Set the gun for your format. Configure it for a 20 oz sausage or a 10 oz cartridge, following the gun's instructions.
4. Load the adhesive. Pull the plunger rod all the way back, remove the front cap, slide the sausage into the barrel, open the end of the film, fit the nozzle and reinstall the cap.
5. Cut the nozzle to suit the bead size your adhesive's instructions call for.
6. Apply with steady pressure. Use smooth, even trigger pulls so the bead stays consistent, then set the stone or cap in place.
7. Stop the flow between beads. Release plunger pressure when you pause so adhesive does not keep oozing from the nozzle.
8. Clean up before the adhesive cures. Wipe the nozzle, cap and barrel, and check the adhesive label for the recommended cleanup method.
