Why Contractors Ask for RG+ Landscape Adhesive by Name
Most construction adhesives need a dry, warm, clean surface. Hardscape crews work in October rain and November frost, and the wall still has to go up.
- It bonds on dry, wet, or frozen surfaces. Techniseal states this plainly, and it is the reason RG+ extends a working season rather than ending it when the forecast turns.
- It remains flexible. An elastomeric compound moves with the structure instead of cracking away from it, which matters on retaining walls through freeze and thaw cycles.
- Techniseal calls it ideal for the construction of retaining walls, which is the highest stress adhesive application in most hardscape work.
- Known yield. A 28 ounce tube gives up to 41 feet at a 3/8 inch bead, and a 10 ounce tube gives up to 15 feet, so estimating is straightforward.
- All weather and all around. Techniseal describes it as flexible, versatile, and all weather rather than a specialist product with a narrow window.
- Bonds brick, concrete pavers, metal, stone, and wood, which covers most of what a landscape job is made of.
- It scrapes off without wrecking the stone. Techniseal makes the comparison itself: unlike polyurethane adhesive, RG+ can be scraped off without breaking substrates. On a wall you may have to take apart and reset, that is the difference between salvaging a cap and buying a new one.

Techniseal publishes one coverage figure: a 300 ml (10 oz) cartridge runs a 3/8 inch bead up to 15 feet. The 41 foot figure for the 28 ounce cartridge is our own arithmetic from that published number, because the larger tube holds about 2.8 times as much. Work out your total linear feet and your bead size before ordering, and add a margin, because bead consistency in cold weather is never perfect.
Which Cartridge Should You Buy
Same adhesive, same formula, two cartridge sizes. The only question is how much bead your job needs and what gun you already own.

If the linear footage runs into the hundreds of feet, look at the Techniseal Structure Bond canister system instead. It yields far more per unit and will come out cheaper than either cartridge.

For very high linear footage jobs, the Techniseal Structure Bond canister system yields far more per unit and may work out more economical.
For vertical veneer where sagging is the risk, StickyStone has the initial grab this product is not optimized for.

How to Install RG+ Landscape Adhesive
Follow the official Techniseal instructions, linked below. This is the shape of the job:
- Clear the bonding surfaces of loose material, dirt, and ice buildup, even though the product tolerates damp and frozen conditions.
- Load the cartridge into a caulking gun sized for it, standard for the 10 oz and a 28 oz gun for the large cartridge.
- Apply a 3/8 inch bead in the pattern the technical data sheet specifies for your application.
- Set the block or stone into position promptly.
- Check alignment along the course before the adhesive sets.
- Allow the full cure time given for the conditions you are working in. Cold weather extends cure times.
Cold slows curing even where it does not prevent bonding. Build the extra cure time into your schedule rather than loading the wall the same day.
