What Structural Grade Actually Means Here

This is not a caulk that holds a cap in place until somebody leans on it. SB-10 is rated to withstand heavy vehicular traffic, and it also helps level and shim materials as you set them, which is the small practical thing that saves time on an uneven cap course.

• High strength and rigid. Built for structural hardscape rather than decorative tacking.
• Withstands heavy vehicular traffic. Driveway aprons and commercial entries.
• Works wet and frozen. Which is the difference between working in shoulder season and going home.
• Levels and shims. The bead does some of the fitting work for you.
• Low VOC, under 75 g/L. And it runs from a standard caulking gun or a sausage applicator.

Coverage By Tube Size

Bead size drives the number more than anything else, and most cap and coping work runs a 1/4 in to 3/8 in bead. Every figure below is SEK’s own, from the 2024 technical data sheet.

Which Tube Should You Buy

Same adhesive in all three. The choice is how much bead the job needs and which applicator is already in the truck.

• 10 fl oz cartridge. Standard caulking gun. Right for a short cap course, a column, or a repair. 26 linear feet at a 1/4 in bead.
• 20 fl oz sausage tube. Needs a sausage applicator. Less waste than a cartridge and a two year shelf life instead of one. 52 linear feet at a 1/4 in bead.
• 28 fl oz cartridge. Standard 28 oz gun. The most bead per tube and the fewest changeovers on a long wall. 86 linear feet at a 1/4 in bead.

SB-10 PaverBond Specifications

A note on SEK’s own numbers. Everything above comes from SEK’s 2024 technical data sheet, which is the current controlled document and the one linked at the foot of this page. SEK’s website still carries older copy that says over 25 years rather than 30, and lists the small cartridge as 10.3 fl oz rather than 10 fl oz. The coverage figures are identical in both. We have gone with the data sheet, and we are telling you about the difference rather than hoping you do not notice it.

SB-10 Or SB-15?

SB-10 is the proven structural workhorse and sets in 25 to 30 minutes with a 2 to 7 day full cure. SB-15 Rapid Set skins in 5 minutes and reaches full cure in 24 hours on a 1/8 in bead, and SEK rates it 70 percent faster setting and 35 percent stronger. If you need to keep moving, SB-15. If you want the long field record and a slightly longer working window, SB-10.
