Alliance Gator Sealer Stripper is a professional strength formulation specifically designed to remove water based and solvent based acrylic sealers from concrete pavers and natural stone surfaces. It effectively dissolves and removes multiple layers of existing sealer in a single application, making it the required first step before applying a fresh sealer to a surface where an unknown or incompatible coating may be present. Alliance Gator Sealer Stripper is water based, contains zero VOC, and has virtually no odor. significantly easier to work with than solvent based stripping products.
Alliance Gator Sealer Stripper is referenced in the installation instructions for every Alliance sealer product. Before applying Gator Seal Satin Look, Wet Look, Hybrid Seal, or any other Alliance sealer, the instructions specify: use Gator Sealer Stripper to remove any unknown coating that remains on the surface. Without this step, a new sealer applied over an old incompatible coating will fail to bond, resulting in peeling, discoloration, or uneven sealer performance.
One gallon of Alliance Gator Sealer Stripper covers 40 to 50 sq ft at the required minimum 1/8 inch application thickness. After application the product must react for a minimum of 12 hours and up to 24 hours while covered with a plastic sheet. The area is then vacuumed section by section before pressure washing and rinsing. Available in 1 gallon and 5 gallon sizes. A shelf life of 2 years when kept sealed in a warm, dry environment.

When Should You Use Alliance Gator Sealer Stripper?
Removing an unknown or incompatible existing sealer before resealing Every Alliance sealer installation guide specifies using Alliance Gator Sealer Stripper to remove any unknown coating that remains on the paver surface before applying a new sealer. If the existing sealer type is unknown or incompatible with the new sealer being applied, failing to strip it first will result in bonding failure, peeling, or discoloration of the new coating.
Stripping a sealer that has failed, peeled, or discolored When an existing sealer has peeled, turned white, or degraded unevenly across the paver surface, the damaged coating must be fully removed before a fresh sealer can be applied. Alliance Gator Sealer Stripper dissolves and removes failed sealer coatings in a single application, restoring the paver surface to bare concrete that is ready to accept a new sealer correctly.
Removing multiple built-up sealer layers Pavers that have been sealed and resealed multiple times without proper stripping can accumulate layers of sealer that affect the paver's appearance and prevent proper adhesion of new coatings. Alliance Gator Sealer Stripper is formulated to dissolve and remove multiple sealer layers in a single application.
Switching from a water based sealer to a solvent based sealer or vice versa When changing sealer types. for example switching from a water based sealer to a solvent based sealer like Gator Seal Wet Look or Satin Look. the existing coating must be fully removed first. Alliance Gator Sealer Stripper removes both water based and solvent based acrylic sealers, making it the correct choice regardless of what type of sealer is currently on the pavers.

This is the most critical step in the Alliance Gator Sealer Stripper process. After applying the product, if the area is left uncovered and exposed to air, the dissolved sealer that has been lifted off the paver surface will dry out and re adhere to the pavers. At that point, the entire process needs to be repeated. Covering with plastic sheeting keeps the dissolved sealer wet and in suspension so it can be properly vacuumed and pressure washed away after the reaction time is complete.
