What Is Alliance Gator Seal Resealer for Concrete Pavers?
Important: Alliance Gator Seal Resealer is for already sealed concrete pavers only. It is designed to be applied over an existing solvent based sealer coating. Do not use on bare unsealed pavers. use Gator Seal Satin Look, Wet Look, or Natural Look instead. Pavers and jointing sand must be 100 percent dry. Temperature must be between 60°F and 85°F at time of application.
Alliance Gator Seal Resealer is the only Alliance sealer product specifically designed for concrete pavers that are already sealed. While every other Alliance sealer is formulated for first time application on bare unsealed pavers, Alliance Gator Seal Resealer is engineered to penetrate through the existing sealer coating and chemically reactivate the sealer molecules underneath, creating a rejuvenated, renewed seal that restores full protection to the paver surface.

How to Apply Alliance Gator Seal Resealer for Concrete Pavers
Critical pre-application requirements: Surface must be 100 percent dry. pavers and jointing sand both. Temperature must be between 60°F and 85°F. Paver surface must be cool to the touch. At least 48 hours of dry weather required before and after application. Existing sealer must be a solvent based product. Alliance Gator Seal Resealer will not work over water based sealers. All stains and efflorescence must be fully removed before applying Alliance Gator Seal Resealer. Test on a hidden 4 sq ft area first.

Remove all stains and clean the surface
Remove all oil, grease, and rust stains using the appropriate Gator Clean products. Use Gator Sealer Stripper to remove any unknown or incompatible coating that may be on the paver surface. Alliance Gator Seal Resealer only works over existing solvent based sealers. any unknown coating must be identified and removed before proceeding.

Replace any contaminated jointing material
Remove and replace any contaminated polymeric sand jointing material following standard installation instructions. Allow the new polymeric sand to fully harden for a minimum of 48 hours at above 60°F with no rain before proceeding.

Clean with Gator Efflorescence Cleaner and allow to fully dry
Clean the entire paver surface with Gator Efflorescence Cleaner to remove efflorescence and thoroughly clean the surface for proper Alliance Gator Seal Resealer adhesion. After cleaning, wait at least 48 hours at above 60°F with no rain so the pavers and polymeric sand joints are completely dry before applying Alliance Gator Seal Resealer.

Apply Alliance Gator Seal Resealer in 60 sq ft sections
Using a sprayer, apply one coat of Alliance Gator Seal Resealer in sections of approximately 60 sq ft at a time. Do not thin or dilute the product. apply full strength. Work in sections to ensure the back rolling step happens before the sealer begins to cure in each section.

Back roll immediately with a solvent resistant foam roller
Immediately after spraying each 60 sq ft section, back roll with a solvent resistant foam roller (grey) to remove excess Alliance Gator Seal Resealer from the surface. This step ensures an even, consistent finish. Two people are strongly recommended. one to spray and one to back roll simultaneously. Apply one coat only.

Allow 90 minutes to rain safe, 24 hours to full use
Alliance Gator Seal Resealer is rain safe 90 minutes after application. Keep foot traffic and vehicles off the surface for 24 hours. Clean all application equipment with Xylene immediately after use.

Gator Seal Satin Look is for bare unsealed pavers only. it is a first time sealer that creates a new protective coating in fresh concrete paver pores. Alliance Gator Seal Resealer is for already sealed pavers only. it penetrates through an existing worn solvent based sealer and reactivates the sealer molecules to rejuvenate the protection. Using Satin Look on already sealed pavers will result in poor bonding. Using Alliance Gator Seal Resealer on bare unsealed pavers will not create the protection you need. The key test: pour water on your pavers. If it beads up, they are sealed. If it soaks in, they are not.
One of the most reliable tests is the acetone test. Apply a small amount of acetone to a hidden area of the sealed surface. If the existing sealer softens or dissolves, it is likely solvent based and compatible with Alliance Gator Seal Resealer.
