It enhances the color of dry cast pavers and leaves a rich, permanently wet high gloss finish, sets up a strong protective film that repels contaminants, and prevents staining and premature erosion. It is microporous, so the film still breathes. Note that Techniseal does not sell WL4 in California.

Why Contractors Ask for WL4 High Gloss Sealer by Name
A high solid solvent acrylic is what most contractors reach for when the brief is maximum gloss and maximum color. WL4 is that product in the Techniseal line.

Techniseal publishes 150 sq ft per gallon and 750 sq ft per 5 gallon, with actual coverage varying by joint width and surface porosity. On a high gloss finish an uneven coat is very visible, so allow enough material to apply properly rather than stretching it.

High gloss increases slickness when wet. On pool decks, steps, and sloped driveways, add Techniseal SureFoot anti slip grit for solvent based sealers, or choose a penetrating product like CB+ or iN.
Techniseal lists concrete pavers and interlocking pavers. For natural stone, use iN or CB+.
This is solvent based. Plan for ventilation, appropriate personal protection, and solvent cleanup, and follow all safety data sheet requirements.
Do not apply over a dirty, damp, or efflorescent surface. A high gloss film magnifies everything underneath it.

How to Install WL4 High Gloss Sealer
Follow the official Techniseal instructions and safety data sheet, linked below. This is the shape of the job:
- Clean the surface thoroughly and let it dry completely.
- Confirm the joints are filled and cured.
- Test a small discrete area and have the customer approve the gloss level before you seal the whole surface.
- Apply evenly per the technical data sheet, keeping a wet edge and avoiding pooling.
- Observe ventilation and safety requirements throughout. This is a solvent based product.
- Respect recoat and cure times, and keep traffic off through the full cure.
A test patch matters more with high gloss than with any other finish. Customers routinely underestimate how shiny high gloss actually is until they see it on their own pavers.
