Techniseal SureFoot Anti-Slip Grit for Water-Based Sealers
The Water Based Version, Which Is The One Most Techniseal Sealers Actually Need
This is the anti slip grit for water based Techniseal film forming sealers. It blends in without changing how the sealer looks or performs, and it makes the finished surface meaningfully less slippery. Techniseal recommends it for pool decks, access ramps, and outdoor kitchens. Most of the Techniseal sealer line is water based, including NS, JS, JSW, CB+ and iN, so for the majority of jobs this is the SureFoot you want rather than the solvent version.

Why Contractors Ask for SureFoot for Water Based Sealers by Name
A sealed patio looks better and grips worse. Around a pool or on an access ramp that is a safety problem rather than a cosmetic one.
- It matches the chemistry of your sealer. Techniseal makes two versions of SureFoot, one for water based sealers and one for solvent based. Using the wrong one means it will not blend properly. This is the water based version.
- It does not change the look of the sealer. Techniseal states it blends seamlessly into any water based Techniseal film forming paver sealer without altering appearance or performance.
- It makes sealed surfaces less slippery, minimizing the risk of falls and injuries. That is the whole point, and it is inexpensive insurance on a job you are liable for.
- Techniseal names the applications: pool decks, access ramps, and outdoor kitchens.
- Access ramps are called out specifically, which matters on any project with accessibility requirements.
- Simple dosing with the spoon included. Five spoons per gallon of sealer, twenty four spoons per five gallon.

Where SureFoot for Water Based Sealers Works
Any sealed surface that gets wet and is walked on is a candidate.
- Pool decks and pool surrounds
- Access ramps and any surface with accessibility requirements
- Outdoor kitchens and bar areas where spills happen
- Sloped driveways and inclined walkways
- Steps, stairs, and landings
- Shaded areas that stay damp
- Commercial patios where slip liability is a concern
- Any job using a water based Techniseal sealer on a wet prone surface
Where SureFoot for Water Based Sealers Should NOT Be Used (Straight From the Manufacturer)
This is the water based version. If you are applying a solvent based sealer such as WL4, you need the solvent based SureFoot instead. Match the additive to the sealer chemistry or it will not blend properly.
It is an additive, not a standalone product. It goes into the sealer, not onto the paver.
Do not exceed the stated dose hoping for more grip. Overloading a sealer changes how the film forms.
Stir it in thoroughly and keep stirring during application, or the grit settles and the last section gets all of it.

How to Use SureFoot for Water Based Sealers
Follow the official Techniseal instructions, linked below. This is the shape of the job:
- Confirm your sealer is a water based Techniseal film forming product.
- Work out your total sealer quantity for the job first.
- Add 5 spoons of SureFoot per gallon of sealer, or 24 spoons per 5 gallon, using the included spoon.
- Mix thoroughly until the grit is fully suspended.
- Stir periodically throughout application so the grit stays evenly distributed.
- Apply the sealer as normal per its own technical data sheet.
Grit settles. Stir between pours and the traction stays consistent across the whole surface instead of concentrating wherever you happened to finish.
