Water Rinsable, No Scraping, And It Works On Walls And Facades As Well As Floors

This is Techniseal heavy duty 5 gallon stripper for concrete, brick, roughcast, and masonry, rated for floors, walls, and facades alike. Two things make it practical on a real job: it rinses off with water without scraping, and one 5 gallon container covers 500 to 625 sq ft. One critical limitation to know before you buy: it works on alkyd sealers and will not work on acrylic based sealers.

Why Contractors Ask for Stripper for Concrete and Masonry by Name

Stripping is the worst job in hardscape maintenance, and most of what makes it awful is scraping. A stripper that rinses off changes the labor on the job completely.

  • It rinses with water and does not need scraping. That is the headline, and on a large floor or facade it is the difference between a day and three.
  • It works on vertical surfaces. Floors, walls, and facades are all rated, which opens up building maintenance work rather than only paving.
  • Broad masonry approval. Concrete, brick, and roughcast are all named by Techniseal.
  • Known coverage. 500 to 625 sq ft per 5 gallon container, varying with surface condition, so a large job can be estimated properly.
  • It comes in a working size. Stripping is a volume job, and a 5 gallon container is sized for the reality of it.

Where Stripper for Concrete and Masonry Works

This is a volume stripping product for buildings and large paved areas.

  • Removing alkyd sealers from concrete floors
  • Brick and masonry walls and facades
  • Roughcast and rendered surfaces
  • Commercial and industrial floor stripping
  • Large area paving where scraping would be impractical
  • Building maintenance and restoration work

Where Stripper for Concrete and Masonry Should NOT Be Used (Straight From the Manufacturer)

It will not work on acrylic based sealers. Techniseal states this plainly. Most modern paver sealers, including several in their own line, are acrylic. Identify the existing sealer before you buy, and use the Eco-Stripper if it is not alkyd or if you do not know.

Treated surfaces become a burn and slip hazard during work. Techniseal instructs you to watch or block access to any surface covered with this stripper. Take that seriously on an occupied property.

Ventilation is mandatory. Techniseal specifies use in a perfectly ventilated area, and if applied in a garage, to tightly close doors and windows that open onto the building.

Test in a small discrete area first to confirm the existing coating actually responds.

Read the technical data sheet and safety data sheet in full before you start. This is an aggressive product.

How to Use Stripper for Concrete and Masonry

Follow the official Techniseal instructions and safety data sheet, linked below. This is the shape of the job:

  1. Identify the existing sealer. If it is acrylic, stop and use a different product.
  2. Confirm the work area can be properly ventilated, and plan how you will block access to treated surfaces.
  3. Test in a small discrete area to confirm the coating responds and to time the dwell.
  4. Apply per the technical data sheet across the working section.
  5. Keep people and pets off the treated area throughout, and post or barrier it.
  6. Rinse thoroughly with water. No scraping should be needed.
  7. Let the surface dry completely before applying anything new.

The access control instruction is not boilerplate. A surface covered in active stripper is both slippery and caustic, and on a commercial job that needs barriers and signage, not just good intentions.

Quick Answers

Will it strip my acrylic paver sealer?
No. Techniseal states it works on alkyd sealers and will not work on acrylic based sealers. Use the Eco-Stripper for those.

How do I know which sealer I have?
If you do not know, treat it as unknown and use the Eco-Stripper, which removes virtually any coating. Or test both on a small hidden area.

Do I need to scrape?
No. Techniseal describes it as water rinsable without scraping, which is the main labor saving.

How much area does 5 gallons cover?
500 to 625 sq ft, varying with surface condition.

Can I use it on a brick facade?
Yes. Floors, walls, and facades in concrete, brick, and roughcast are all rated.

Is it safe to leave the area unattended?
No. Techniseal instructs you to watch or block access to treated surfaces to prevent burns and slips.
