Techniseal SureFoot β Anti-Slip Grit
The Additive That Takes The Slip Out Of A Glossy Sealed Patio
SureFoot is an anti slip grit that mixes into Techniseal solvent based film forming paver sealers. It blends in without changing how the sealer looks or performs, and it gives the finished surface real slip resistance. Techniseal recommends it specifically for pool decks, sloped driveways, and outdoor kitchens, which are exactly the places a glossy sealed paver becomes a hazard. The measuring spoon is included.

Why Contractors Ask for SureFoot Anti Slip Grit by Name
A wet look sealer makes a patio beautiful and makes it slick. Around a pool that is not a cosmetic issue, it is a liability issue.
- It reduces the slipperiness of sealed pavers and slabs. That is the entire purpose, and it is the cheapest insurance on a sealing job you will ever buy.
- It does not change how the sealer looks. Techniseal states it blends seamlessly into any solvent based Techniseal film forming sealer without altering appearance or performance. The customer gets the gloss they wanted, without the hazard.
- Techniseal names the applications directly: pool decks, sloped driveways, and outdoor kitchens. If your job is one of those, this belongs in the quote.
- The dosing is simple and the spoon comes with it. Five spoons per gallon of sealer, twenty four spoons per five gallon. No weighing, no ratios to calculate on site.
- It minimizes the risk of falls and injury, which matters for the homeowner and for you.

Where SureFoot Anti Slip Grit Works
Any sealed surface that gets wet and is walked on is a candidate.
- Pool decks and pool surrounds
- Sloped driveways and inclined walkways
- Outdoor kitchens and bar areas where spills happen
- Steps, stairs, and landings
- Shaded areas that stay damp and grow algae
- Any project where a gloss or wet look sealer is being specified
- Commercial patios where slip liability is a real concern
Where SureFoot Anti Slip Grit Should NOT Be Used (Straight From the Manufacturer)
This version is for solvent based Techniseal sealers. Techniseal also makes a SureFoot for water based sealers. Match the additive to the sealer chemistry or it will not blend properly. Call us if you are unsure which you need.
It is an additive, not a standalone product. It goes into the sealer, not onto the paver.
Do not exceed the stated dose in the hope of more grip. Overloading a sealer changes how the film forms.
Stir it in thoroughly and keep stirring during application, or the grit settles in the bottom of the pail and the last section gets all of it.

How to Install SureFoot Anti Slip Grit
Follow the official Techniseal instructions, linked below. This is the shape of the job:
- Confirm your sealer is a solvent based Techniseal film forming product.
- Work out your sealer quantity for the job first.
- Add 5 spoons of SureFoot per gallon of sealer, or 24 spoons per 5 gallon, using the included spoon.
- Mix thoroughly until the grit is fully suspended.
- Stir periodically throughout application so the grit stays evenly distributed rather than settling.
- Apply the sealer as normal per its own technical data sheet.
The most common mistake is mixing once at the start and then not stirring again. Grit settles. Stir between pours and the traction stays consistent across the whole patio.
Quick Answers
Will it change how my sealer looks?
No. Techniseal states it blends seamlessly without altering the appearance or performance of the sealer.
How much do I add?
5 spoons per gallon of sealer, 24 spoons per 5 gallon. The spoon is included in the container.
Can I use it with a water based sealer?
This version is formulated for solvent based Techniseal sealers. Techniseal makes a separate SureFoot for water based sealers. Call us and we will make sure you get the right one.
Do I need it on every job?
No. It is for surfaces that get wet and are walked on: pool decks, slopes, outdoor kitchens, and steps.
Can I sprinkle it on top instead of mixing it in?
No. It is designed to be mixed into the sealer so it becomes part of the film.
Does it feel rough underfoot?
It adds traction rather than abrasiveness. The point is to reduce slip risk without making a patio unpleasant to walk on barefoot.
