Up To Three Times The Strength Of Conventional Adhesive, With A Permanent Overnight Bond

Structure Bond PU Paste is a high strength, high solids, low VOC polyurethane adhesive. Techniseal rates it at up to three times the strength of conventional adhesive, with a permanent bond overnight so the job moves on the next morning. It adheres to wet and frozen surfaces, resists water and frost, and the non shrinking formulation makes it usable for gap filling and shimming rather than just bonding flat faces.

3x Conventional Strength
High strength, high solids polyurethane
Overnight Bond
Permanent bond, faster project completion
Wet And Frozen Surfaces
Resists water and frost
Non Shrinking
Suitable for gap filling and shimming

Why Contractors Ask for Structure Bond PU Paste by Name

Two things slow a hardscape build: waiting for an adhesive to cure, and discovering the substrate is not flat enough to bond against. This product is aimed at both.

  • Up to three times the strength of conventional adhesive. That is Techniseal own figure, and it is a high strength, high solids polyurethane formulation.
  • Permanent overnight bond. The wall you build today can be worked on tomorrow, which changes how a multi day build gets scheduled.
  • It adheres to wet and frozen surfaces and resists water and frost once cured, so damp or cold conditions do not stop the job.
  • Non shrinking, so it fills gaps and shims. That is unusual and genuinely useful. An adhesive that shrinks leaves a void behind exactly where you needed support.
  • Long open time. Techniseal calls out flexibility in repositioning, which on heavy stone is the difference between a straight course and a fight.
  • Smooth extrusion. Easier dispensing means less hand fatigue across a full day of wall building.
  • Low VOC, and rated for normal and humid installation areas.

Yield depends on bead size and on how much of the material is going into gap filling rather than a running bead. Gap filling consumes considerably more than a flat bonded joint, so estimate against your actual assembly.

Where Structure Bond PU Paste Works

Reach for PU Paste when strength, speed, or an imperfect substrate is the constraint.

  • Retaining wall construction where next day progress matters
  • Bonding onto uneven or irregular substrates that need gap filling
  • Shimming and leveling stone and block
  • Cold and damp weather construction
  • Cap stones and coping on walls and pools
  • Structural landscape features and columns
  • Mixed substrate assemblies
  • Repairs where the surface cannot be dried first

Where Structure Bond PU Paste Should NOT Be Used (Straight From the Manufacturer)

This is a paste adhesive, not the high yield canister foam. For long runs of bonding at volume, the Structure Bond canister system with the Gun II dispenser yields far more per unit.

For vertical veneer where sag resistance is the priority, StickyStone is formulated for that specific problem.

Bonding to wet and frozen surfaces does not remove the need to clear loose material, dirt, and ice buildup first.

Read the technical data sheet and safety data sheet for cure times, temperature limits, and protective equipment before you start.

How to Install Structure Bond PU Paste

Follow the official Techniseal instructions, linked below. This is the shape of the job:

  1. Clear the bonding surfaces of loose material, dirt, and ice buildup.
  2. Load the tube into the appropriate dispenser.
  3. Apply the adhesive in the pattern the technical data sheet specifies, using extra material where gap filling or shimming is needed.
  4. Set the unit into position. The long open time allows repositioning if the course needs adjusting.
  5. Check alignment along the course before the adhesive begins to set.
  6. Allow the overnight cure before loading the assembly.

The non shrinking property is what makes gap filling reliable here. Where a substrate is out of true, build the adhesive up rather than forcing the stone down onto a high spot.

Quick Answers

How strong is it really?
Techniseal states up to three times the strength of conventional adhesive, from a high strength, high solids polyurethane formulation.

When can I work on it again?
It produces a permanent bond overnight, which is what makes it suited to multi day builds.

Can I use it in the cold or rain?
It adheres to wet and frozen surfaces and resists water and frost. Clear ice and loose material first, and expect cure times to extend in cold weather.

Can I use it to fill a gap?
Yes. The non shrinking formulation makes it suitable for gap filling and shimming, which most adhesives are not.

How is it different from the Structure Bond canister?
The canister is a high yield polyurethane foam for long runs, needing the Gun II dispenser. This is a paste in a tube, focused on maximum strength, gap filling, and overnight bonding.

Is it low VOC?
Yes, it is a low VOC, high solids formulation.
