We would rather tell you this before you buy than argue about it after. Per SRW's technical data sheet, Rapid-Set is not intended for direct contact with flames or fire brick. It is high-temperature compatible up to 400F around a fire pit, but the flame side itself needs refractory mortar, not adhesive.

- Cut. the nozzle to bead size and apply per the label pattern.
- Join. the pieces within the working time and support as needed while it sets.

How much working time do I have?
It varies by product; check the label before the first bead. Fast products reward having everything dry-fit first.
Cold weather?
Each adhesive lists its application range. If you are building in the shoulder seasons, our Superior Strength line extrudes down to 10F.
How long until full strength?
Set time gets you hands-off; full cure per the label is when it takes real load.
How long do I have to position the piece?
About 15 minutes of working time, with full cure in 24 to 48 hours. Above 90F, support the joint for the first 24 hours.
Is there anything I should know about handling it?
Wear gloves and eye protection, follow the label, and keep it away from children and pets until placed or cured. Full precautions are in the SDS below.
