SEK Surebond SB-1300 Joint Stabilizing Paver Sealer, Matte Finish, 1 Gallon
Protection That Does Not Change How The Patio Looks
Most sealers announce themselves. Gloss, sheen, a darker paver. SB-1300 dries clear to a matte finish, so the reason to use it is protection and joint stability rather than appearance. It goes on milky white and dries clear, which is how you can see your coverage while you work.
- Two jobs, one pass. Stabilizes the joint sand and seals the surface in the same application.
- Antifungal. Formulated to inhibit mold, moss and algae, which is what shaded patios actually struggle with.
- Breathable. Does not trap moisture or efflorescence under a film, which is how sealers cause the white bloom they were meant to stop.
- Stain resistant. Spills sit on the surface rather than soaking into the paver.
- Reduced sand washout. Fewer weeds, fewer ants, less joint refilling.
Coverage Per Gallon
Coverage splits hard depending on whether you are stabilizing joints or just sealing the surface. Stabilizing pulls sealer down into the sand, so it uses far more.
| With joint stabilization | 80 to 120 sq ft per gallon |
| Sealing only, no stabilization | 150 to 300 sq ft per gallon |
| Basis | One coat. Porosity, age and application method move the real number |
Approved Surfaces
SEK rates SB-1300 for the following. Natural stone and clay vary batch to batch, so SEK asks you to test a small area first to confirm both performance and appearance.
- Concrete and clay pavers
- Stamped and flat concrete
- Masonry and exposed aggregate
- Natural and manufactured stone
- Segmental retaining wall block and concrete walls
- Can be applied immediately after installation
- Horizontal and vertical surfaces
Where It Should Not Be Used, Straight From SEK
These are the manufacturer’s exclusions, not ours.
- Granite and marble. Not recommended.
- Asphalt. Not recommended.
- Glazed or ceramic tile. Not recommended.
- Always test a small area first. Natural stone and clay vary, and SEK asks for a test patch every time.

Before You Seal
Every SEK sealer wants a clean, dry surface. If the pavers have efflorescence, ground in dirt or an old failed sealer on them, that has to come off first or the new sealer bonds to the contamination instead of the paver.
