SEK Surebond SB-4400 EZ Perma-Seal Penetrating Sealer, Solvent, 1 Gallon
When To Spend The Extra On Solvent
On open, porous pavers the water based SB-4000 penetrates perfectly well and costs less. On dense, hard troweled or tight aggregate concrete, water based product can sit on the surface and flash off before it gets in. That is where the solvent carrier earns the price difference.
- Excellent water repellency. Plus safeguards the surface from salt attack.
- Does not alter appearance on most surfaces. Some may darken slightly, so test first.
- Deep chemical bonding. Bonds inside the substrate rather than coating it.
- Breathable. Will not trap moisture or efflorescence.
- Immediate application. Can go down right away on most surfaces.
Coverage Per Gallon
Applied as two coats wet on wet, same as the water based version.
| Pavers and hardscape | 75 to 200 sq ft per gallon |
| Concrete | 100 to 200 sq ft per gallon |
| Vertical surfaces | 50 to 200 sq ft per gallon |
| Basis | Two coats, wet on wet |
Approved Surfaces

- Masonry, segmental retaining walls and concrete walls
- Exposed aggregate
- Natural and manufactured stone containing quartz
- Grout, unglazed tile and terra cotta
Where It Should Not Be Used, Straight From SEK

SB-4000 Or SB-4400?
Both are invisible penetrating sealers with the same coverage figures. SB-4000 is water based, non hazardous and costs less. SB-4400 is solvent based and penetrates dense substrates better. On ordinary porous pavers the water based one is the sensible buy. Call us if you are not sure which your surface is.
