Dyco 7200 Paver Sealer 1 Gallon, Clear Gloss Solvent Acrylic
Bare Surfaces Only
Dyco is explicit that this must not go on previously coated or sealed surfaces, nor on wood, metal or solvent sensitive surfaces. If you do not know whether a slab has been sealed before, pour a little water on it. If it beads rather than soaking in, there is a sealer present and this is the wrong product until that comes off.
The Moisture Test Dyco Requires
Before sealing, tape an 18 inch square of plastic sheet down on all four sides and leave it 24 hours. If water condenses underneath, moisture is coming up through the slab and you must not coat it. Dyco states plainly that the sealer will keep water and stains out, but it will not correct a moisture problem coming from within the surface. Sealing over rising damp traps it and the coating fails.

Dyco’s Do Not List
- Do not tint. Stated explicitly in the technical data.
- Do not thin.
- Do not over apply. Too heavy a film causes blushing or stops it drying clear.
- Do not stretch coverage beyond the stated square footage.
- Do not apply if rain is expected within 48 hours, or over standing water. The surface must be 100 percent dry.
- Do not freeze, and do not use in drinking water or food systems.
- New concrete must cure 30 days, and new pavers should weather 20 to 30 days so efflorescence can work its way out.
Two Practical Warnings
- It is slippery when wet. An anti slip aggregate can be added, but adding aggregate to a clear coating changes the look, so test it on a hidden area first.
- It is a flammable solvent product with a 77 F flash point and a cancer hazard warning. Ventilate, keep it away from ignition sources, and use it with the respect a solvent coating deserves.
- Two coats are recommended for gloss and performance, the second run perpendicular to the first. If spraying, you must back roll.
