It Does Change the Look

Worth being straight about, because the word clear misleads people. PPG states that the finish slightly darkens surfaces for a natural wet look, and gives a high gloss sheen. If you want a sealer that leaves the concrete looking untouched, this is not it, and we can point you at a penetrating sealer instead. If you want the colour deepened and a gloss, this is exactly the product.

What It Protects Against

• Hot tire pickup, which is what lifts a weak sealer off a driveway where cars park.
• Spalling from freeze and thaw, by keeping water out of the surface.
• Concrete dusting, and it reduces efflorescence.

Why Several Figures Say Not Published

PPG hosts a technical data sheet link for this product but the file does not resolve, so only the safety data sheet is available. That means coverage, VOC and application temperature genuinely are not published by the manufacturer anywhere. Handling

The safety data sheet for this product carries a reproductive toxicity classification and the signal word Danger, with instructions to store it locked up, and it notes that it contains isothiazolinones which may cause an allergic reaction. Read the label, keep it away from children, and use gloves and ventilation. That is a stronger warning than most consumer sealers carry and you should know before it arrives.
