How to Apply Gator Seal Satin Look
The short version. Always follow the Alliance data sheet.

Test
Roughly 4 sq ft in a hidden area first. Alliance limits the warranty to that area if you skip it.

Remove stains
With Gator Clean products, and strip any unknown existing coating with Gator Sealer Stripper.

Replace contaminated joint sand
With Gator Polymeric Sand, then wait 48 hours above 60 F with no rain for it to harden.

Clean the whole surface
With Gator Efflorescence Cleaner, then wait another 48 hours for it to dry.

Apply one coat
By sprayer in 60 sq ft sections, back-rolling the excess with a solvent-resistant foam roller so nothing puddles.
Apply at 60 F to 85 F (16 C to 29 C). Test a small area first.

Gator Seal Satin Look is a solvent-based acrylic paver sealer that gives a low gloss finish with subtle color enhancement and stabilizes the joint sand at the same time. Rain safe in 90 minutes, 175 sq ft per gallon, VOC under 120 g/L. 1 and 5 gallon.

Where Gator Seal Satin Look Works
Alliance's data sheet rates Gator Seal Satin Look for dry cast concrete pavers. Where we see it used:
- Dry cast concrete paver patios
- Walkways and pool decks
- Driveways
- Previously unsealed surfaces only
Where Gator Seal Satin Look Should NOT Be Used (Straight From the Manufacturer)
Unsealed pavers only. Alliance states this cannot be used as a resealer. If the surface has been sealed before, use Gator Seal Resealer instead.
Wait 60 days after the pavers are installed before sealing.
Everything must be 100 percent dry. Pavers and jointing sand both, with 48 hours of dry weather beforehand, and the surface cool to the touch.
Apply between 60 F and 85 F only. Do not thin or dilute, and apply one coat only.

Satin Look, Wet Look or Hybrid? Choosing a Paver Sealer
Alliance publishes their own guidance on how the finishes differ and how long each lasts:
- Satin Look, solvent, low gloss, deepens and enhances color with a slight shine. Finish life 3 to 5 years.
- Wet Look, solvent, high shine, deepens and enhances color most. Finish life 3 to 5 years.
- Hybrid Seal High Gloss and Low Gloss, water based, retains the original color and adds a clear-coat shine. Finish life 2 to 3 years.
- Signature Series Natural Look, water based, non film-forming, natural finish. Longest lasting at around 10 years.
- One layering rule matters: a solvent sealer can go over solvent or water based, but a water based sealer can never go over a solvent based one.
