Edge Bond is a polymer modified hardscape concrete edging powered by the same NextGel technology behind Techniseal jointing sands. Instead of nailing a plastic strip around the perimeter, you trowel a continuous reinforced concrete edge that locks the outside course. Techniseal claims the fastest and easiest installation on the market and more than 10 percent extra coverage over comparable products. One 50 lb bag covers 16 to 20 linear feet.

Why Contractors Ask for Edge Bond by Name
Plastic edging fails in a predictable way: the spikes heave, the strip lifts, and the outside course walks. A troweled concrete edge has no fastener to work loose.

Techniseal gives 16 to 20 linear feet per 50 lb bag and notes coverage varies with the shape and size of the edging you trowel. A heavier haunch on a driveway uses more than a light edge on a garden path, so measure your open perimeter and plan against the low end.

Where Edge Bond Should NOT Be Used (Straight From the Manufacturer)
Do not apply over frozen ground or into standing water in the trench.
Do not over water the mix to make it easier to trowel. Extra water is the fastest route to a weak, crumbly edge.
This is a structural edge, not a jointing product. It goes against the outside face and the base, not into the paver joints.

How to Use Edge Bond
Follow the official Techniseal instructions, linked below. This is the shape of the job:
- Remove the excess bedding material along the outside of the perimeter course, down to the compacted base.
- Mix the bag with water to the ratio the technical data sheet specifies.
- Trowel the mixture into the trench, carrying it up the side of the paver as the instructions direct.
- Work the edge smooth and consistent, bag by bag around the perimeter.
- Observe the cure time before jointing and final compaction.
- Backfill the outside of the edge with soil, mulch, or sod once cured.
Plan your bag count against 16 linear feet rather than 20 if the design calls for a substantial haunch. Coming up one bag short at the end of a run is the common mistake.
