Your Screen Is Lying to You About Sand Color
Every phone, laptop, and monitor shows color a little differently. Add in product photography lighting, and the Granite you see online might arrive noticeably lighter or darker than you expected. On a wide-joint project that mistake gets magnified: with 2 inch and 3 inch joints in natural stone, the sand can be a quarter of what your eye sees, and it is hardened in place for good.
Even SRW says it plainly in their own technical data sheet: actual color and availability varies by geographic location. The sand blended for one region of the country can look different from the photos taken in another. That is exactly why we built this kit. Hold real X-Treme™ sand from our actual inventory against your actual stone, in your own yard and your own light, then order full bags without second guessing yourself.
What Arrives at Your Door
Two 2 ounce wide mouth containers with lids, each one labeled and filled with genuine SRW X-Treme™ polymeric sand in Tan and Granite. Each container holds enough sand to spread against your stone, test wet and dry, and compare in morning and afternoon light. The lids reseal, so you can save the kit for a future project or hand it to a client for approval.

Your 10 Minute Color Test
- Pour a small pile of each color into the joints or along the edge of your stone or wetcast, outside in natural light.
- Check both colors at different times of day. Colors read warmer in the evening and cooler at midday, and you are choosing something you will see for years.
- Dampen a pinch of your favorite. Activated polymeric sand cures slightly darker than dry sand, so a quick wet test gives you the closest preview of the finished joint.

Yes, 100%. We fill every container from the same factory sealed SRW bags we ship to customers. Nothing substituted and nothing generic.
Will the cured color match the sample exactly?
Very close, with two honest caveats. Polymeric sand is a natural aggregate, so SRW notes that color can vary between production lots and regions, and activated sand cures a touch darker than dry sand. A dampened sample is your best preview, and it is far more accurate than any photo on any screen.
How fast does it ship?

What is X-Treme, exactly?
SRW's wide-joint polymeric sand, built for natural stone and wetcast with joints from 1/4 inch up to 6 inches. Advanced polymer technology gives it a stronger, more solid cure for wide joints, the polymers dry clear for a haze-free finish, and it is rain safe just 20 minutes after activation, the fastest wide-joint setup time on the market. Full size bags are 50 lb, and one bag typically covers 20 to 45 square feet depending on joint width.
Can I use X-Treme on my paver patio?
SRW recommends X-Treme for natural stone and wetcast, not for concrete pavers, clay pavers, concrete overlays, or pool copings. For a standard paver patio, SRW Pavermate Z3 is the right sand, and we offer a Z3 color sample kit too.
