- Clear. the bed of weeds and rake it smooth.
- Roll. the fabric out, fuzzy side facing the ground, overlapping seams at least 4 to 6 inches, and pin with SRW fabric staples, staggered at about 1.2 staples per square yard.
- Cut. an X where each plant goes and fold the flaps around the stem.
- Cover. immediately with 3 to 4 inches of mulch, bark, decorative rock or stone. Fabric that stays covered lasts longest.
