SRW 3 Series Retaining Wall Geogrid, Bi-Directional
The Layer That Keeps a 10-Foot Wall Standing
Bi-directional reinforcement geogrid for segmental retaining walls up to 10 feet tall, with a long-term design strength of 1,161 pounds per foot. Laid in horizontal layers between block courses, it ties the wall to the soil behind it so the whole reinforced mass resists the load together, which is the difference between a garden wall and an engineered one.

Why Contractors Ask for 3 Series Retaining Wall Geogrid by Name
Walls do not fail on day one. They lean and bulge years later, when the soil finally wins against block that had nothing tying it back.
- Long-term design strength (LTDS) of 1,161 lb/ft.
- Bi-directional: same strength both roll directions, so layout is forgiving.
- Transfers load from the wall face into the compacted soil mass.
- Helps prevent bulging, leaning and wall failure as walls get taller.
Where 3 Series Retaining Wall Geogrid Works
3 Series Retaining Wall Geogrid is recommended by SRW Products for segmental retaining walls and slopes:
- Segmental retaining walls
- Steep slopes and tiered walls
Installation at a Glance
The full step by step guide is in the official TDS below. Here is the shape of the job:
- Follow. the wall design: layer count, lengths and elevations come from the block system's tables or the engineer.
- At. each grid course, sweep the block clean and roll the grid back from the wall face over compacted backfill (strength direction perpendicular to the wall for uni-directional grids).
- Set. the next block course to pin the grid, pull it taut and pin the tail.
- Backfill. and compact in lifts before the next layer. Never run tracked equipment directly on the grid.
Always test in a small discrete area first.
Quick Answers
Do I actually need geogrid?
Above 3 to 4 feet of wall height, or with slopes and loads above the wall, almost always yes. The block manufacturer's tables say exactly when and how much.
Which series do I need?
The wall design picks the grid, not the other way around. Match the LTDS your wall system's chart calls for, or call us at (856) 418-4895 with your wall height and we will walk it with you.
How far back does it go?
Typically 60 to 100 percent of wall height, per the design tables. Longer grid is cheap compared to rebuilding a leaning wall.
Is there anything I should know about handling it?
Wear gloves and eye protection, follow the label, and keep it away from children and pets until placed or cured. Full precautions are in the SDS below.
