SEK Surebond Steel Paver Edging Spikes, 3/8 in Diameter, Box
Which Length You Need
Length is decided by the base depth and what the spike has to reach into. A short spike in a deep base is holding nothing but bedding material, which is why restraint walks out on driveways that looked fine on installation day.
- 8 in spikes. Standard patio and walkway work over normal base depth. 200 per box.
- 10 in spikes. Deeper base sections, driveway edges and anywhere carrying vehicular load. 150 per box.
- 3/8 in diameter. Both lengths, sized for the SEK restraint base.
- Compatible with Snap Edge, Low Profile and Barrier. Straight from the SEK spec.
How Many To Order
Spacing depends on the traffic and the base, but as a starting point figure a spike every 12 in along a driveway edge, every 18 to 24 in on a patio, and extra through every curve where the rail wants to straighten itself out.
| Driveway edge | About one spike per 12 in |
| Patio and walkway | About one spike per 18 to 24 in |
| Curves and radii | Tighten the spacing, the rail is under tension |
| 8 in box | 200 spikes, covers roughly 200 ft at 12 in spacing |
| 10 in box | 150 spikes, covers roughly 150 ft at 12 in spacing |
