The Wet Set That Bonds The Unit To The Bed
EZ Bond is a polymer modified Portland cement wet set mortar. Its job is the bond line: holding large format pavers, natural stone, porcelain and tile down onto an EZ Set trass bed or sound existing concrete. The polymer modification is what makes it crack resistant rather than brittle.

Why Polymer Modified Matters On Large Format
Big units move. Thermal expansion across a 24 in porcelain slab is far more than across a 4 in paver, and a plain Portland mortar bed has very little tolerance for that movement before it cracks. The polymer gives the bond line enough flexibility to absorb it.

Wet Set Or Dry Set?
EZ Bond is the wet set: you mix it and trowel a bond coat. EZ Overlay is the dry set alternative that goes down without mixing, straight over sound existing concrete, and SEK says it cuts install time in half. If you are working over an existing slab in good condition, look at EZ Overlay before you commit to mixing mortar.
