Why Test a Sealer Before You Seal

Sealer results depend on the stone, not just the sealer. The same product can look noticeably different on a smooth concrete paver, a tumbled paver, travertine and natural flagstone. A sample removes the guesswork.

• Sheen reads differently on every surface. A satin on dense concrete can look closer to gloss on porous stone.
• Color change is not reversible. Enhancing and wet look sealers deepen the stone permanently.
• Older or previously sealed pavers react differently. A test patch shows blotching or resistance before it costs you a patio.
• You can compare side by side. Order two or three samples and seal adjacent pavers to pick the finish you actually want.

About SRW PRX Paver Restore X-Treme Pigmented Sealer

PRX is the rescue product for faded pavers, a pigmented high gloss wet look sealer that puts rich colour back into surfaces the sun has washed out. It highlights the pigment still in the paver and percolates around exposed aggregate to even out irregular colour. Because it carries pigment of its own, the result depends heavily on the stone underneath, which is exactly why a test patch matters more here than with any other sealer we sell.

How to Run the Test

• Pick an out of the way spot, a spare paver or a corner that furniture will cover.
• Clean the area and let it dry completely. Any efflorescence or dirt will change the result.
• Apply the sealer the way you plan to apply the full batch, brush, roller or sprayer.
• Let it cure fully before judging. Most finishes look glossier while wet than they do once dry.
• Check the patch in daylight and again after it rains so you know how it will look year round.
