Liquid Paw Shield Pet Safe Liquid Ice Melt, 32 oz to 5 Gallon
Why Contractors Pre-Treat
The hardest work in snow removal is breaking the bond between ice and concrete. Pre-treating removes that job entirely. The surface stays wet rather than freezing solid, snow sits on a film instead of welding to the slab, and clearing becomes shovelling rather than chipping.
- Pet safe. Designed with the whole family in mind, so it suits a route the dog uses daily.
- Melts fast. Effective as a driveway de-icer, not only as a pre-treatment.
- Less corrosive. Conventional rock salt is notorious for attacking concrete and metal. This blend is built to limit that.
- Commercial grade. Sold for real snow removal work.
How To Use It Across A Storm
| Before the storm | Spray the surface and let it dry. Ice cannot bond to a treated slab |
| During the storm | Apply to help stop accumulation locking down |
| After clearing | Treat the cleared surface to prevent overnight refreeze |
| Application | Ready to use, apply with a sprayer |
Choosing A Size
Liquid goes a long way because you are wetting a surface rather than covering it. The larger containers are far better value per gallon if you have any real area to keep clear.
| 1 gallon | A residential walkway, steps and a short drive |
| 2.5 gallon | A full residential driveway plus walks, several storms |
| 5 gallon | Commercial walkways, multi property or a whole season |

Liquid And Granular Do Different Jobs
Liquid prevents the bond. Granular breaks a bond that has already formed. If you can get out ahead of the storm, liquid is far less work and uses far less product. If the ice is already down you want a granular melter such as the Paw Shield 12 lb jug. Most properties that take snow seriously keep both.
