Why Blend Rather Than Pick One
Plain rock salt is cheap but loses its grip around 15 to 20 F. Straight calcium chloride works far colder but costs several times as much per pound. Blending the two is the practical middle: enough calcium chloride to carry the product down to -15 F, enough rock salt to keep the price sensible.

How to Apply
- Shovel the loose snow off first so the product reaches the bonded ice.
- Spread thinly. Calcium chloride blends work faster than salt, so you need less than you think.
- Clear the slush once the bond releases, before it refreezes overnight.
- Keep it off concrete under 12 months old and reseal the pail between storms.
