Why It Beats a Tube of Filler or a Bag of Cement
- Nothing to mix or measure. Polyurethane tubes clog, caulk smears, and a cement patch has to be measured, mixed and troweled before it goes off. This pours in dry like sand.
- It flexes. A cement patch is rigid, so the next freeze-thaw cycle cracks it again, usually along the same line. The polymer here moves with the slab.
- It seals water out. Water getting into a crack and freezing is the reason cracks spread. Closing the crack against water is what stops it growing.
- It looks like concrete. Cures to a sandy, grout-like texture in five colors rather than a glossy bead of caulk sitting proud of the surface.
- Sizes that match the job. One bottle for a couple of cracks, three for a whole driveway.

Coverage assumes a hairline to medium crack filled to the surface. A deep or wide crack will take more, which is what the backer rod below is for.
How to Apply It
- Clean the crack out. Get the loose debris, old filler and any dirt out of it.
- Let it dry completely. This is the step people skip, and a damp crack is what activates the polymer before you want it to.
- Pour ConSandtrate straight into the crack, filling to the surface.
- Mist lightly with a spray bottle. Mist, do not flood.
- Let the polymers activate and set.
- If the filler settles into a deeper crack, top it up and mist again.
- Keep the area dry while it cures.
Getting It Right
- For a wide or deep crack, push a backer rod into the void first. It fills the space you do not need to pay to fill and stops the product disappearing down the crack.
- Work in dry, mild weather. Rain in the forecast is a reason to wait.
- Keep the bottle sealed between uses, because moisture will activate whatever is left in it.
- Match the color to your slab before you pour, not after. Cured filler is not coming back out.
- Sweep and rinse the slab first. A concrete and paver cleaner clears the dirt, oil and efflorescence so the polymer can bond.
- Once the repair has cured, a paver and concrete sealer protects the rest of the slab from the water and freeze-thaw that caused the crack.
Where It Works, and Where It Does Not
Works on: concrete driveways, sidewalks, walkways, patios, pool decks, steps, back porches and outdoor stairs, across stamped, broom finished, smooth, aggregate and decorative concrete.
Use something else for: joints between pavers, where you want polymeric sand instead. Wide expansion joints and control joints, where a flexible self levelling sealant is the right tool. Large voids or a worn out slab, where a cementitious patch or resurfacer does the job.

How do you fix a crack in a concrete driveway?

Will it stop the crack spreading?
