About this item
- It handles four difficult stain types in one product. Paint, tar or bitumen, rubber, and chewing gum. Buying four specialist products for those is how a truck fills up with half used bottles.
- It is water rinsable. That is unusual for a product strong enough to dissolve bitumen, and it makes cleanup on a finished patio considerably simpler.
- Very broad surface approval. Natural stone, brick, concrete pavers, concrete slabs, interlocking pavers, poured concrete, stamped concrete, wet cast pavers, and interior concrete.
- It dissolves rather than abrades. Scraping tar or gum off a textured paver damages the surface texture. Dissolving it does not.
- It is also classed as a stripper by Techniseal, which tells you how aggressive the chemistry is on coatings.

Description
Description
For The Four Stains Nothing Else Touches: Paint, Tar, Rubber, And Gum
Paint overspray, roofing tar, tire rubber, and chewing gum all share one trait: they are not water soluble, so ordinary patio cleaners simply move them around. This Techniseal remover dissolves all four on pavers, slabs, concrete, and masonry, and it rinses off with water rather than requiring a solvent flush.

This is a spot treatment. A quart covers a substantial number of typical paint drips, gum spots, or tire scuffs. A large area of overspray or a tar spill will use proportionally more.
Where Paint, Tar and Rubber Remover Works
These stains usually arrive with other work rather than with normal use.
- Paint drips and overspray after painting or staining work
- Roofing tar and bitumen tracked onto a patio or driveway
- Tire scuff marks on driveways and parking areas
- Chewing gum on commercial walkways and entries
- Stamped concrete affected by any of the above
- Construction cleanup before handover
- Brick and natural stone with paint or tar contamination
- Interior concrete floors in garages and workshops
Where Paint, Tar and Rubber Remover Should NOT Be Used (Straight From the Manufacturer)
This is classed as a stripper. On a previously sealed surface it may affect the sealer as well as the stain. Test carefully and plan to reseal the treated area if needed.
It targets paint, tar, rubber, and gum. For oil use the Pro Grade Oil and Grease Remover, for rust use the Rust Stain Remover, and for organic stains use the Organic Stain Remover.
Do not scrape aggressively first. Let the product dissolve the deposit rather than damaging the paver texture.
Always test in a small discrete area first, particularly on natural stone and colored pavers.
Read the technical data sheet and safety data sheet for dwell time, ventilation, and protective equipment before you start.

How to Install Paint, Tar and Rubber Remover
Follow the official Techniseal instructions, linked below. This is the shape of the job:
- Remove any loose material from the surface without scraping the stain itself.
- Test in a small discrete area first, especially on sealed or colored surfaces.
- Apply per the technical data sheet and allow the specified dwell time for the deposit to dissolve.
- Agitate gently if the instructions call for it.
- Rinse thoroughly with water.
- Repeat on heavy deposits, then reseal the area if the surface was sealed and the sealer was affected.
Because this is also a stripper, treat a sealed patio with care. Test first, work the stain only, and expect to touch up the sealer over the treated area.
