About this item
- It is a heavy duty efflorescence cleaner. Efflorescence is the white mineral bloom that migrates to the surface of concrete pavers. HD Paver Prep is built to remove it rather than just wash around it.
- It dislodges other embedded contaminants too, so you are not running three products to get one surface ready.
- It improves how well the sealer penetrates. Techniseal states plainly that this extends the durability of sealing jobs. A sealer sitting on top of contamination is a sealer that fails early.
- It brightens the paver color without damaging the material. On an older patio, the prep step alone often makes the customer happy before the sealer has even been opened.
- It is a pro grade, high duty product, which is what you want when the alternative is scrubbing a patio twice.

Description
The Heavy Duty Prep Step That Decides Whether Your Sealer Job Lasts
HD Paver Prep is Techniseal high duty paver cleaner and efflorescence remover, formulated for one job above all others: getting the surface genuinely ready before sealer goes down. It strips efflorescence, dislodges ground in staining contaminants, and brightens the paver color without damaging it. Techniseal is direct about why that matters, a properly prepped surface lets the sealer penetrate better and extends the durability of the whole sealing job.

Why Contractors Ask for HD Paver Prep by Name
Sealing over efflorescence locks it in permanently. There is no fixing that afterwards without stripping the sealer and starting again, which is why prep is the step that separates a professional seal job from a callback.

How far a gallon goes depends on how contaminated the surface is and how porous the pavers are. A lightly soiled newer patio needs far less than a decade old driveway with heavy efflorescence. Call us with the surface area and condition and we will help you size it.
Where HD Paver Prep Works
Use it any time a surface is about to be sealed, and any time efflorescence is the complaint.
- Preparing concrete pavers before applying any Techniseal sealer
- Removing efflorescence bloom from patios, walkways, and driveways
- Refreshing older pavers that have dulled with age and dirt
- Cleaning interlocking paver driveways before resealing
- Concrete slab surfaces needing a deep clean
- Any job where the customer has complained about white haze on the pavers
Where HD Paver Prep Should NOT Be Used (Straight From the Manufacturer)
Techniseal lists concrete pavers, concrete slabs, and interlocking pavers. Check the technical data sheet before using it on natural stone, which reacts differently to cleaning chemistry.
This is a cleaner, not a sealer. It prepares the surface; it does not protect it. Follow with the appropriate Techniseal sealer.
Do not seal a surface that has not fully dried after cleaning. Trapped moisture under a sealer causes blushing and whitening.
Always test in a small discrete area first, especially on colored or older pavers.
Read the technical data sheet and safety data sheet for dilution, dwell time, and personal protection requirements before you start.
Not sure if your project qualifies? Call us at (856) 418-4895 before you order. We will give you a straight answer, even if the answer is that this is not the right product for your job.
How to Install HD Paver Prep
Follow the official Techniseal instructions, linked below. This is the shape of the job:
- Sweep the surface clear of loose debris.
- Test the product in a small discrete area to confirm the result on your specific pavers.
- Apply per the technical data sheet, observing the dilution and dwell time Techniseal specifies.
- Agitate where the contamination is heaviest.
- Rinse thoroughly. Any residue left behind gets sealed in later.
- Let the surface dry completely before applying sealer. This wait is not optional.
The single most common sealing failure is sealing too soon after cleaning. The surface has to be dry all the way through, not just dry to the touch.
