About this item
- Ten inches of length. That is what gets the nail past the bedding sand and into the compacted base where it has something to grip through a freeze and thaw cycle.
- Strong built for the load. A thin or soft nail bends as it is driven, especially into a properly compacted base, and a bent nail holds nothing.
- Made for Techniseal edging. The nail head and shaft are matched to the holes in their edging sections, so they seat properly rather than pulling through or standing proud.
- They are the cheapest part of the job and the one that decides whether it lasts. Under buying nails to save money is the worst trade in hardscape.

Description
The Nails Are What Actually Hold The Edge, Not The Plastic
Paver edging fails at the fastener, not the strip. These are Techniseal strong built 10 inch nails, made for use with their hardscape edging systems. Ten inches is the length that matters: a short spike sits in the bedding layer and heaves out with the first freeze, while a full length nail reaches into the compacted base where it can actually hold.

Techniseal Edging Nails Specifications
| Product Type | Edging nails for hardscape edging |
| Length | 10 in |
| Designed For | Techniseal paver and hardscape edging systems |
| Construction | Strong built |
| Manufacturer | Techniseal |
Nail quantity is driven by the spacing your edging technical data sheet specifies, and spacing tightens on curves and on driveways. Work out your linear feet, check the required spacing, and add a margin. Running out of nails halfway around a perimeter stops the job.
Where Techniseal Edging Nails Works
Anywhere Techniseal edging is being installed.
- Fastening 8 ft rigid paver edging
- Fastening 40 ft coil edging around curves
- Low profile aluminum edging installations
- Patio, walkway, and driveway perimeters
- Curved and radius edges where spacing tightens
- Any hardscape edge restraint job
Where Techniseal Edging Nails Should NOT Be Used (Straight From the Manufacturer)
These are for edging installed over a properly compacted base. On permeable and open graded systems, nails have very little to grip, and a bonded edge such as Techniseal Edge Bond is the better answer.
Do not increase the spacing to stretch a box of nails. Spacing is what makes the restraint work.
Do not substitute shorter nails. Length is the point of a 10 inch spike.

How to Use Techniseal Edging Nails
Follow the edging technical data sheet for spacing. This is the shape of the job:
- Set the edging in position against the outside course, seated on compacted base.
- Confirm the required nail spacing from the edging instructions, tightening it on curves.
- Drive each nail through the edging hole, straight down into the base.
- Check that heads seat flush rather than standing proud where they could catch.
- Work around the perimeter, verifying the edging stays tight to the pavers as you go.
- Backfill the outside of the edging once fastened.
Drive them straight. A nail driven at an angle has far less holding power and can push the edging out of line as it goes in.
Quick Answers
How many nails do I need?
It depends on the spacing your edging instructions specify and your total linear feet. Spacing tightens on curves and on driveways, so measure and add a margin.
Why 10 inches?
So the nail passes through the bedding layer and anchors in the compacted base, which is what resists frost heave.
Can I use them with any edging?
They are made for Techniseal hardscape edgings. Check fit before using them with another manufacturer system.
Do they come with the edging?
No. Techniseal sells edging and nails separately, so plan for both.
Will they rust?
Check the current technical data sheet for the finish specification on your batch.
Pairs Well With
- Techniseal paver edging in 8 ft rigid or 40 ft coil
- Techniseal low profile aluminum edging
