About this item
- More than 10 percent extra coverage. Techniseal calls this out directly, and across a large perimeter it is a real difference in bag count.
- NextGel technology. The same core technology behind their jointing sands, applied to an edging compound.
- Dispersible reinforcement fibers. The fiber network gives the cured edge tensile strength, which is what stops a thin haunch cracking off under a mower wheel or a tire.
- Ideal for permeable installations. Permeable systems give spikes almost nothing to bite into, so a bonded edge is the right answer there.
- It leaves a smooth, uniform finish, which matters on the sections of edge that stay visible.
- It disappears below grade. Nothing plastic showing at the perimeter, which matters on premium natural stone and porcelain work.

Why Edge Bond?
A Troweled Concrete Edge With NextGel In It, And Over 10 Percent More Coverage
Plastic edging fails in a predictable way: the spikes heave, the strip lifts, and the outside course walks. A troweled concrete edge has no fastener to work loose.

Description
A Troweled Concrete Edge With NextGel In It, And Over 10 Percent More Coverage
Edge Bond is a polymer modified hardscape concrete edging powered by the same NextGel technology behind Techniseal jointing sands. Instead of nailing a plastic strip around the perimeter, you trowel a continuous reinforced concrete edge that locks the outside course. Techniseal claims the fastest and easiest installation on the market and more than 10 percent extra coverage over comparable products. One 50 lb bag covers 16 to 20 linear feet.

Why Contractors Ask for Edge Bond by Name
Plastic edging fails in a predictable way: the spikes heave, the strip lifts, and the outside course walks. A troweled concrete edge has no fastener to work loose.
- More than 10 percent extra coverage. Techniseal calls this out directly, and across a large perimeter it is a real difference in bag count.

- It leaves a smooth, uniform finish, which matters on the sections of edge that stay visible.
- It disappears below grade. Nothing plastic showing at the perimeter, which matters on premium natural stone and porcelain work.
- Very broad surface approval: large slabs, highly textured surfaces, clay pavers, natural stone, concrete pavers and slabs, interlocking pavers, and wet cast pavers.
- Rated flat and sloped, for residential, commercial, and public projects.

Techniseal gives 16 to 20 linear feet per 50 lb bag and notes coverage varies with the shape and size of the edging you trowel. A heavier haunch on a driveway uses more than a light edge on a garden path, so measure your open perimeter and plan against the low end.
Where Edge Bond Works
Edge Bond suits any perimeter that has to hold without hardware in the ground.
- Patio and walkway perimeters meeting soil, mulch, or lawn
- Permeable paver installations where spikes have nothing to grip
- Driveway edges carrying vehicle loads
- Curved and radius edges where rigid strip is a fight
- Natural stone and porcelain perimeters where plastic would show
- Large format slab installations
- Commercial and public projects
- Sloped installations
Where Edge Bond Should NOT Be Used (Straight From the Manufacturer)
Do not apply over frozen ground or into standing water in the trench.
Do not over water the mix to make it easier to trowel. Extra water is the fastest route to a weak, crumbly edge.
This is a structural edge, not a jointing product. It goes against the outside face and the base, not into the paver joints.
Read the current technical data sheet for water ratio, cure time, and the wait before jointing and final compaction.
