A Blended Melter For People Who Do Not Want Straight Rock Salt
Enviro-Blend 6300 is not one chemical, it is a blend. Sodium chloride does the bulk melting, magnesium chloride hexahydrate extends the working range downward, and potassium chloride rounds it out. Compass Minerals then add their MG-104 corrosion inhibitor. The result works to -10 F and is marketed as pet friendly.

How Cold Does It Actually Get Where You Are?

This is the question that decides which product you want. Enviro-Blend 6300 stops at -10 F. If your forecast regularly goes below that, straight calcium chloride such as Peladow will keep working when this will not. If you never see below zero, this blend is easier on surfaces and cheaper to run.
