SEK Surebond PolySweep Polymeric Sand 50 lb Bag, Joints to 3/4 in
Why Contractors Keep Buying The Same Sand
Most polymeric sand failures are install failures, not product failures, and they happen because the product punished a small mistake. PolySweep is formulated to be forgiving. Its Clear Set technology is what keeps residue off the paver face, so the haze that ruins a finished patio is not something you have to sweep around.
- Haze free. Clear Set technology means no white film left sitting on the paver surface after watering in.
- Reduced dust. Less airborne dust while you sweep, which matters on an occupied job site.
- Strength and longevity. The original time-tested formula, built for driveways and commercial traffic, not just patios.
- Works on porcelain. Approved for concrete, clay and wet cast pavers, natural stone and porcelain tile.
Coverage Per 50 lb Bag
Coverage swings hard with joint width, and these are SEK’s published figures. Joint depth and paver texture move the real number, so buy a bag over rather than a bag short.
| Standard pavers, joints up to 1/4 in | 50 to 75 sq ft |
| Standard pavers, 1/4 in to 1/2 in | 25 to 50 sq ft |
| Standard pavers, 1/2 in to 3/4 in | 15 to 25 sq ft |
| Natural stone, joints up to 2 in | 15 to 25 sq ft |
| Natural stone, 2 in to 4 in | 25 to 35 sq ft |

Where PolySweep Should Not Be Used, Straight From SEK
SEK is direct about the limits, and ignoring them is how a job goes wrong.
- Not for vertical applications. This is a jointing sand, not a wall product.
- Not a mortar substitute. It will not carry structural load.
- Not on a wet or damp surface. The pavers and the joints must be completely dry before you sweep.
- Do not mix it with other products. No additives, no blending with another brand of sand.
Install Window You Have To Respect
Two numbers decide whether this sand cures properly. The surface temperature has to stay above 35 F for a minimum of 48 hours after installation, and you need at least 12 hours with no rain. Cure can run 24 hours or considerably longer when it is cool and damp, so read the forecast before you open a bag.
