This efflorescence is a common and natural process in concrete pavers and is easily treated with Alliance Gator Efflorescence Cleaner when addressed promptly.
Required pre sealing preparation before any Alliance sealer Alliance Gator Efflorescence Cleaner is the mandatory preparation step before applying Gator Seal Satin Look, Wet Look, or any other Alliance sealer. Efflorescence deposits in the paver pores must be removed before sealing or the sealer will not penetrate properly, resulting in poor adhesion, uneven finish, and early sealer failure. This step cannot be skipped.

Mix Alliance Gator Efflorescence Cleaner with water
In a clean bucket, pump sprayer, or watering can, mix 1 part Alliance Gator Efflorescence Cleaner concentrate with 4 parts clean water. Stir or shake to combine. Never use at full strength and never at a concentration stronger than 4:1. Too strong a concentration can discolor or etch the paver surface. When in doubt, dilute further and apply more passes.

Wet the paver surface thoroughly
Before applying Alliance Gator Efflorescence Cleaner, wet the paver surface thoroughly with clean water. Working on a wet surface helps the product spread evenly and prevents it from drying too quickly during the reaction time.

Apply diluted Alliance Gator Efflorescence Cleaner in 40 sq ft sections
Using a pump sprayer or watering can, apply the diluted Alliance Gator Efflorescence Cleaner to the wet paver surface. Work in sections of approximately 40 sq ft at a time. Use approximately 1 gallon of diluted solution per 40 sq ft of surface area. Do not let Alliance Gator Efflorescence Cleaner dry on the surface at any point during this process.

Wait 1 minute then scrub with a hard bristle brush
After applying Alliance Gator Efflorescence Cleaner to each section, wait approximately 1 minute to allow the product to react with and dissolve the efflorescence deposits. Then scrub the surface vigorously with a hard bristle brush to work the cleaner into the paver pores and lift the efflorescence out of the surface.

Rinse thoroughly and move to the next section
After scrubbing, rinse each 40 sq ft section thoroughly with clean water before moving to the next section. Do not allow Alliance Gator Efflorescence Cleaner to remain on the surface without rinsing. Continue applying, waiting, scrubbing, and rinsing section by section across the full affected area.

Final full rinse until all foaming stops
Once the entire affected area has been treated, do a thorough final rinse with a garden hose until there is absolutely no more foaming action visible on the pavers. If heavy efflorescence remains in some areas, repeat the full process on those sections. Severe or long established efflorescence may require two or more applications.
