Required on every Gator Base installation. Alliance Gator Base Screws are the mandatory fastener for securing Gator Edge to Gator Base. They must be used on every Gator Base project. without them, the Gator Edge perimeter restraint cannot be properly secured and lateral support will be compromised. Install one Gator Base Screw at every second hole on the Gator Edge, and at every edge junction point.
Alliance Gator Base Screws are the 1/8 inch LD (Long Drive point) hollow anchor fasteners that secure Gator Edge restraints to Gator Base panels on every Gator Base installation. Fastening Gator Edge with Gator Base Screws through the Gator Base reinforces the outside perimeter of the installation, creating strong lateral support that prevents paver movement over time. The expanding hollow anchor design means that as each Gator Base Screw is turned in, the anchor expands behind the Gator Base panel and locks itself in place, pulling the Gator Edge firmly against the side of the pavers or wall blocks.
Alliance Gator Base Screws are 2.5 inches long and designed specifically for use with thin materials like the Gator Base panel. They are the only screws specified by Alliance for Gator Base installations and should not be substituted with standard fasteners. Each pack contains 50 screws. For most residential patio and walkway projects, one pack of 50 Gator Base Screws is sufficient. Larger projects or those with seating walls may require additional packs.

Install Gator Base panels and place pavers or blocks
Complete the Gator Base panel installation and set your concrete pavers, natural stone, or wall blocks in their final position before installing Gator Edge and Gator Base Screws. All paving materials must be in their final positions before the perimeter restraint is secured.

Position Gator Edge firmly against the pavers or blocks
Install Gator Edge along the perimeter of the installation, pressing the vertical section of the edge firmly against the sides of the pavers or wall blocks. Gator Edge must be in full contact with the paver or block face before the Gator Base Screws are installed.

Thread Gator Base Screws at every second hole
Thread one Alliance Gator Base Screw through the Gator Edge hole and into the Gator Base panel at every second hole along the perimeter. As each Gator Base Screw is turned in, the hollow anchor expands behind the Gator Base panel and locks in place. Do not skip holes at corners or junction points. install a Gator Base Screw at every junction regardless of the every second hole spacing rule.

Secure every edge junction with an additional screw
At every junction where two Gator Edge sections meet, install a Gator Base Screw on each side of the junction point. This ensures the joint between edge sections is fully secured and cannot open under lateral pressure from the installed pavers or from foot traffic on the completed surface.
