About this item
- Not for submersion. Sashco also lists areas of frequent, prolonged puddling.
- Not on driving surfaces until fully cured. Lay plywood over it if you must drive across.
- It will not stick to silicone, waxes, polypropylene, polyethylene or Kynar. Old silicone and every trace of its residue must come out first with a silicone remover.
- It is not self leveling, so it needs tooling and will not flow flat on its own.
- Expect a concave finish. Natural shrinkage dishes the joint, and a second pass may be needed to fill flush.

How It Compares to the Other Two We Sell
We carry three products that go into concrete joints and they are not interchangeable. Slab is the mid weight option: flexible, the widest joint capacity at three inches, and water clean up. Sikaflex Self Leveling is the heavy duty choice, carrying a full ASTM C920 Class 25 elastomeric rating, but it is limited to one and a half inches wide and it only works on horizontal joints. Liquid Nails CR-805 is capped at half an inch. Slab is not self leveling, so for a poured horizontal control joint the Sikaflex is the correct product.
Where Sashco Says Not to Use It
- Not for submersion.
Curing and Weather
- Allow one to three days of cure before direct rainfall. If rain arrives sooner, cover it with plastic sheeting with airflow underneath.
- Paint with latex paint or stain after 24 hours, and with oil based paint or stain only after full cure, per Sashco’s published literature.
- Cool temperatures and high humidity both slow the cure down.
