Read This First: It Does Not Mix With Water
DAP Concrete Floor Leveler is a portland cement based dry powder underlayment that levels rough and uneven surfaces. The one thing to know before you order is that it is half a system. DAP specifies mixing it with DAP Bonding Liquid and Floor Leveler Additive, and water is never given as an option anywhere in their literature. A bag on its own is not usable.

You Also Need the Bonding Liquid, and You Need the Gallon
DAP specifies 2.5 quarts of Bonding Liquid for a 25 lb bag. That is more than a pint and less than a gallon, so the gallon is the size that pairs with this bag. Buying the pint alongside it would leave you well short of a single mix. We would rather say that here than have it discovered on the floor with a bag already open.

Limitations DAP States
- Not for repairs over 1 inch total thickness.
- Do not mix more than you can use in 45 minutes.
- Do not use the mix once it has started to set. Retempering a setting cement mix ruins it.
How to Get a Flat Result
- Clean the substrate properly. Anything loose, oily or dusty will show up as a debond later.
- Mix powder into the Bonding Liquid, not the other way round, and mix to a lump free consistency.
- Work in manageable areas. Forty five minutes goes quickly across a large floor.
- Build up to depth in passes rather than exceeding an inch in one go.
- Give it 24 hours before you walk on it or lay a floor covering, and remember full cure is 28 days.
