A Grout Alternative Made Specifically For Outdoor Porcelain Pavers

Porcelain is the least forgiving surface in hardscaping. It is dense, it is non porous, and anything left on the face shows. NextGel Porcelain is Techniseal answer to that: a jointing sand designed only for porcelain, using their Ultra-Clean Technology for a haze free and dust free install. No mixing, no grout float, color consistent, and efflorescence free.

Built For Porcelain Only
Not a general purpose jointing sand
Ultra-Clean Technology
Haze free and dust free
No Mixing Required
Sweep in, activate, done
Efflorescence Free
Consistent color across the job

Why Contractors Ask for NextGel Porcelain by Name

Grouting outdoor porcelain the traditional way is slow, messy, and unforgiving. Haze on a dark porcelain paver is close to permanent and visible from across the yard. This product exists to remove that risk.

  • Ultra-Clean Technology. Techniseal built this specifically so porcelain installs finish haze free and dust free. On porcelain that is not a nice extra, it is the entire problem being solved.
  • It replaces grouting. Techniseal positions it as an innovative grout alternative. You sweep it into the joint instead of working grout across the face of the tile.
  • No mixing. Nothing to measure, nothing to batch, no pot life to race. That removes the most common source of inconsistency between one section and the next.
  • Color consistent and efflorescence free. Blotchy joints and white efflorescence bloom are the two ways a porcelain patio ages badly. Techniseal calls out both directly.
  • Fast and easy by design. Porcelain work is usually premium work on a tight schedule. This is built for speed without the mess.
  • Rated for residential and commercial use on porcelain tile.
  • Handles regular and false joints, which covers both traditional porcelain paver layouts and pedestal or adhered systems with formed joints.

Where NextGel Porcelain Works

This is a single purpose product, and that is the point.

  • Outdoor porcelain paver patios
  • Porcelain pool surrounds and terraces
  • Porcelain walkways and entries
  • Commercial porcelain installations
  • Porcelain over pedestal systems with false joints
  • Any porcelain job where haze on the tile face would be unacceptable
  • Projects where traditional grouting is too slow or too messy

Where NextGel Porcelain Should NOT Be Used (Straight From the Manufacturer)

This is for porcelain. Techniseal lists porcelain tile as the surface type. For concrete pavers use SmartSand or HP NextGel, and for natural stone use NOCO.

Rated for pedestrian traffic. Techniseal does not list vehicular traffic for this product. A porcelain driveway needs a different specification and a conversation first.

Not for joints wider than 1 inch.

Not listed for sloped surfaces. Techniseal lists flat.

How to Install NextGel Porcelain

Follow the official Techniseal instructions for porcelain, linked below. This is the shape of the job:

  1. Confirm the porcelain is laid, the joints are clean and dry, and the surface is free of dust and debris.
  2. Sweep the sand into the joints. There is no mixing step and no grout float involved.
  3. Fill the joints to the level specified in the instructions.
  4. Sweep and blow the porcelain face completely clean. Porcelain shows everything, so take this step further than you would on concrete pavers.
  5. Water activate per the Techniseal instructions, working in manageable sections.
  6. Keep traffic off the surface through the cure period.

Even with a haze free formula, the cleanliness of the tile face before water activation is what determines the finished look. On porcelain there is no forgiving texture to hide anything.

Quick Answers

Techniseal lists porcelain tile as the surface for this product. For concrete pavers, SmartSand and HP NextGel are the right products.

Is this actually grout?
No. It is a jointing sand positioned as a grout alternative. You sweep it in rather than working grout across the tile.

What colors are available?
