For Fresh Grease And Sealed Surfaces, Where An Absorbing Remover Is The Wrong Tool

This Techniseal cleaner dissolves, dislodges, and encapsulates grease, then rinses away without leaving an oily film behind. Techniseal is specific about where it fits best: sealed surfaces and fresh stains. That is the opposite case from their absorbing Pro Grade remover, which is built for old stains that have soaked deep into bare material.

Fresh Stains
Motor oil and barbecue grease
Sealed Surfaces
Techniseal recommends it for these
No Oily Film
Encapsulates and rinses clean
Very Wide Surface List
Stone, brick, concrete, stamped, pavers

Why Contractors Ask for Dirt and Grease Cleaner by Name

A stain sitting on top of a sealed paver has not penetrated anywhere. It needs lifting off the surface, not drawing out of the pores, and using the wrong type of remover wastes product and time.

  • It is built for sealed surfaces. On a sealed patio the grease is on the sealer, not in the paver. Techniseal names sealed surfaces as an ideal application for this product.
  • It is built for fresh stains. Catch a barbecue grease spill or a fresh oil drip and this is faster and simpler than an absorbing treatment.
  • It encapsulates the grease. That is what stops the classic problem of a degreaser spreading a stain into a wider, fainter halo. The grease is captured and carried away in the rinse.
  • No oily film after rinsing, which is where many general degreasers fail on porous hardscape.
  • Rated for motor oil and cooking grease alike, covering both the driveway and the outdoor kitchen.
  • Very broad surface approval, including natural stone, brick, stamped concrete, and interior concrete.

A quart treats a good number of typical spills. Because this is a spot and area cleaner rather than a whole surface wash, quantity depends on how many stains you are dealing with rather than square footage.

Where Dirt and Grease Cleaner Works

Techniseal lists the applications directly, and they cover most commercial and residential hardscape.

  • Driveways with fresh oil drips
  • Pool decks and terraces
  • Patios and outdoor kitchen areas with barbecue grease
  • Commercial parking lots
  • Pedestrian areas and walkways
  • Previously sealed surfaces where the stain sits on the sealer
  • Stamped concrete and natural stone surfaces
  • Interior concrete in garages and workshops

Where Dirt and Grease Cleaner Should NOT Be Used (Straight From the Manufacturer)

For old, deeply penetrated oil stains on bare pavers, use the Pro Grade Oil and Grease Remover instead. That product absorbs the stain out of the material; this one dissolves and rinses it away. Matching the product to the stain age and surface condition is the whole trick.

It targets grease and dirt. For rust use the Rust Stain Remover, for paint or tar use the Paint, Tar and Rubber Remover, and for moss, wine, or food use the Organic Stain Remover.

Always test in a small discrete area first, particularly on sealed or colored surfaces.

Read the technical data sheet and safety data sheet for dilution, dwell time, and protective equipment before you start.

How to Install Dirt and Grease Cleaner

Follow the official Techniseal instructions, linked below. This is the shape of the job:

  1. Blot up any liquid grease still sitting on the surface before you start.
  2. Test in a small discrete area, especially on a sealed patio.
  3. Apply per the technical data sheet and allow the specified dwell time.
  4. Agitate the area if the instructions call for it.
  5. Rinse thoroughly. The encapsulated grease leaves with the rinse water.
  6. Repeat on heavier deposits if needed.

Speed matters with grease. The sooner you treat it, the better this product works, and the less likely you are to need the heavier absorbing remover instead.

Quick Answers

How is this different from the Pro Grade Oil and Grease Remover?
This dissolves and rinses grease away and suits fresh stains and sealed surfaces. The Pro Grade product dries to a powder and absorbs old, deeply penetrated stains out of bare material.

Can I use it on a sealed patio?
Yes. Techniseal names sealed surfaces as an ideal application for this cleaner.

Will it leave a greasy film?
No. Techniseal states it cleans thoroughly without leaving an oily film upon rinsing.

Does it work on barbecue grease?
Yes, cooking and barbecue grease is specifically named alongside motor oil.

Can I use it on natural stone?
Yes. Natural stone, brick, and stamped concrete are all on the approved surface list.

My stain is years old. Will this work?
Probably not as well as the Pro Grade Oil and Grease Remover, which is designed for exactly that case.
