Why Contractors Ask for Gator Seal Resealer by Name
Every other sealer in the Alliance range says the same thing: unsealed surfaces only. Resealer is the exception, and it is what you need when a patio was sealed two or three years ago and has gone flat.

Where Gator Seal Resealer Works
Alliance rates Gator Seal Resealer for:
- Dry cast concrete pavers that were previously sealed
- Patios, walkways and pool decks whose finish has dulled
- Surfaces sealed with Wet Look or Satin Look
Where Gator Seal Resealer Should NOT Be Used (Straight From the Manufacturer)
The existing sealer must be intact. If it has bare or worn-through patches, you will see a difference in the finished look. Strip it with Gator Sealer Stripper and start clean instead.
Wait 60 days after pavers are installed.
Everything 100 percent dry, with 48 hours of dry weather beforehand and no rain forecast for 24 hours. Surface must be cool to the touch.
Apply between 60 F and 85 F. Do not thin or dilute. One coat only.

How to Apply Gator Seal Resealer
The full step by step guide is in the official documentation below. Here is the shape of the job:
- Test roughly 4 sq ft in a hidden area first. Alliance limits the warranty to that area if you skip it.
- Remove stains with Gator Clean products, and strip any unknown existing coating with Gator Sealer Stripper.
- Replace contaminated joint sand with Gator Polymeric Sand, then wait 48 hours above 60 F with no rain for it to harden.
- Clean the whole surface with Gator Efflorescence Cleaner, then wait another 48 hours for it to dry.
- Apply one coat by sprayer in 60 sq ft sections, back-rolling the excess with a solvent-resistant foam roller so nothing puddles.
Reseal or Strip? How to Tell
The test is whether the old sealer is still continuous.
- Still intact, just dull β reseal. Resealer reactivates what is there.
- Patchy, peeling or worn through in traffic lanes β strip it. Resealing over bare patches leaves a visibly uneven finish.
- Unknown coating, or you did not seal it yourself β strip it. Alliance calls for stripping unknown coatings before any sealer goes down.
- One rule that catches people out: a water based sealer can never go over a solvent based one. A solvent sealer can go over either.

How is this different from the other Gator sealers?
Every other Alliance sealer is for unsealed pavers only. This is the only one formulated to go over an existing sealer.
Do I need to strip the old sealer first?
Not if it is intact. If it is patchy or peeling, or you do not know what it is, strip it first with Gator Sealer Stripper.
What finish will I get?
It revives whatever is already there, so a patio done in Wet Look comes back glossy and one done in Satin Look comes back low sheen.
