Install It in the Rain. Really.

SRW WetLok™ is the jointing sand that ignores the weather: pre-mixed, rain-day installable, and permeable after it sets, engineered for joints from 1/8 inch to 5 inches, with leftovers that keep in the resealed tub for a year.

Why Contractors Ask for WetLok by Name

Polymeric sand punishes bad timing: damp joints, surprise showers and cold snaps all ruin the cure, and the redo costs more than the sand did.

  • Rain-proof installation. Air cures on its own schedule; rain during or after installation is fine.
  • Permeable after set. Water drains through the joint instead of ponding, unlike polymeric sand.
  • Huge joint range. One product covers 1/8 inch to 5 inches.
  • Reusable. Reseal the tub; 12 month shelf life for repairs.

Coverage: How Many Tubs Do You Need?

Per SRW's technical data sheet, one 36 lb tub covers:

  • Pavers: 45 to 65 sq ft
  • Larger flagstone: 75 to 110 sq ft
  • 1/8 inch joints: about 65 sq ft per tub
  • 3/4 inch joints: about 13.5 sq ft per tub
  • 1 inch joints: about 10.6 sq ft per tub

Joint width drives everything. For an exact count, use our free Coverage Calculator, or call or text (856) 418-4895.

Where WetLok Works

WetLok is recommended by SRW Products for joints from 1/8 to 5 inches in residential and commercial installations:

  • Concrete and clay pavers, wetcast, natural stone and terracotta
  • Porcelain tile (pedestrian use, per SRW's instructions)
  • Light-duty residential interlocking paver driveways
  • Patios, walkways and pool decks
  • Traditional, hybrid or open-graded base, including HexaBase installs

Where WetLok Should NOT Be Used (Straight From the Manufacturer)

We would rather tell you this before you buy than argue about it after. Per SRW's technical data sheet, a plate compactor is not recommended with WetLok, do not pressure wash the joints for at least 14 days after installation, and overlays without proper slope or drainage can keep WetLok from curing properly. Install with temperatures staying above 37F.

Installation at a Glance

The full step by step guide is in the official TDS below. Here is the shape of the job:

  1. Fill. the joints by scooping or brushing WetLok in and working it down until full.
  2. Sweep. the excess off the surface. It cleans up easily.
  3. Shower. the joints with water to compact and settle the sand.
  4. Reseal. the tub. Leftovers keep for future repairs, with a 12 month shelf life.

Install above 37F, give it drainage to cure against, and always test in a small discrete area first.

Pick Your Color With Confidence

WetLok is available in Tan, Granite, Black, Platinum and Beach. SRW notes in their own documentation that actual color varies by geographic location, and screens make it worse: every monitor shows color differently.

Not 100% sure which color matches your pavers? Order our WetLok Color Samples first and compare real material on your actual stone before buying full units. Jointing material is permanent once cured; a few dollars of certainty is cheap.

Quick Answers

Can I really install it in the rain?
Yes. Rain during or right after installation is fine. The one thing that slows it is standing water with no drainage, which delays the air cure.

Is it OK for porcelain?
Yes, for pedestrian areas, following SRW's porcelain instructions.

Can it go on a driveway?
Light-duty residential interlocking paver driveways, per SRW's directions. For heavier vehicle use, ask us about a polymeric sand instead.

When can I pressure wash?
Not for at least 14 days after installation, per the TDS.

Is there anything I should know about handling it?
Wear gloves and eye protection, follow the label, and keep it away from children and pets until placed or cured. Full precautions are in the SDS below.
