Techniseal® WL4 (Wet Look Paver Protector) is a high-gloss, solvent-based sealer built on an acrylic-and-plasticizer, high-solids formula. It leaves concrete pavers with a rich, permanent wet look while a transparent film locks out contaminants, making spills, dirt, and de-icing salt far easier to deal with. If you want that "just got rained on" pop and real protection, this is the finish that delivers it.
What WL4 Does
- Deepens color & adds gloss. Brings out the natural tones of your pavers with a sleek, high-shine wet look.
- Blocks contaminants. A transparent film stops oil, dirt, and staining agents from soaking in, so cleanup is easier.
- Resists salt & chemicals. Helps prevent deterioration from de-icing salts and provides resistance to acids and alkalis.
- High-solids, single-coat. One properly applied coat delivers the finish; no second pass required.

Coverage: How Much to Buy
WL4 is a single-coat sealer. Actual coverage depends on joint width and how porous your pavers are. Textured or open surfaces drink more.

How to Apply (The Short Version)
- Clean & dry the surface. The pavers must be bare, clean, and fully dry. Inadequate cleaning shows through as an uneven finish.
- Wait after new polymeric sand. If you just installed new poly sand, wait 30 days before sealing.
- Apply one even coat. Avoid pooling or over-accumulation (critical on textured pavers), and keep a wet edge to prevent overlap marks.
- Keep traffic off. Pedestrian: 24 hours. Vehicular: 48 to 72 hours. Block access during that window.

Straight Talk: Read This Before You Buy
- It gets slippery when wet. A high-gloss film makes the surface more slippery when wet. If slip is a concern (steps, pool decks, sloped drives), add Techniseal® SureFoot anti-slip grit (60102089) to the Protector before applying.
- It’s a film-forming sealer. Like any film-forming coating, there is a small risk of trapping efflorescence (whitish salt) beneath the film on new concrete. When in doubt, check with your paver manufacturer.
- Don’t over-apply. Too much product can lead to surface whitening. One even coat is the target.
- Conditions apply. Don’t spray on windy days, don’t apply over a blotchy or hazed surface, and note that extreme climate or heavy traffic can limit how long the finish lasts.
- Not sold in California. WL4 is available in all states except CA.

Is WL4 water-based or solvent-based?
Solvent-based, with a high-solids acrylic formula. Because it’s solvent-based, do not apply a water-based sealer over the top of it.
How glossy is it, really?
Very. WL4 is a high-gloss, wet-look finish. It’s designed to make pavers look permanently wet, not a low-sheen or matte finish.
Can I seal right after installing polymeric sand?
No. Wait 30 days after installing new polymeric sand before sealing the pavers.
Will it make my patio slippery?
It can be more slippery when wet, like most gloss film sealers. For steps or wet areas, mix in Techniseal® SureFoot anti-slip grit before applying.
How long until I can walk and drive on it?
Keep foot traffic off for 24 hours and vehicles off for 48 to 72 hours. Block the area during that time.
How much do I need?
