The Edge Restraint You Pour, Not Spike

Crete-Rail™ replaces plastic edging with a fiber-reinforced concrete curb: just add water and trowel it against the field, where it locks the pavers in as one interlocking system and stays slightly flexible through freeze-thaw.

Why Contractors Ask for Crete-Rail by Name

Spiked edging depends on the ground it is spiked into: frost heave walks the spikes, mowers catch the lip, and the border creeps a little every winter.

  • Bonds to the base itself. A poured restraint holds along the whole edge, not at spike points.
  • Polymer-modified flexibility. Withstands freeze-thaw where rigid concrete cracks.
  • Any shape. Follows curves as easily as straight runs.
  • Fast set. Fiber reinforced, sets quickly, just add water.

Coverage

Per SRW's technical data sheet:

  • One 50 lb bag: 13 to 17 linear ft of edge restraint

Where Crete-Rail Works

Crete-Rail is recommended by SRW Products for residential and light commercial edge restraint:

  • Pavers, natural stone, wetcast and porcelain tile
  • Traditional, open-graded and permeable base installations
  • Projects using HexaBase panels
  • Driveways, walkways and patios

Installation at a Glance

The full step by step guide is in the official TDS below. Here is the shape of the job:

  1. Lay. and compact the paver field first, leaving the base exposed along the outside edge.
  2. Mix. Crete-Rail with water per the bag directions until it holds its shape.
  3. Trowel. it against the outer paver edge in a wedge, on the base, following your curve or line.
  4. Slope. the top away from the pavers so it sits below the lawn line and mowers clear it.
  5. Set. before backfilling with soil or sod. It sets fast.

Always test your mix consistency on a short section first.

Quick Answers

Why pour an edge instead of spiking plastic?
A poured restraint bonds to the base along the entire edge, with nothing to lift, creep, or catch a mower.

Does it handle curves?
Better than anything rigid. You trowel it along whatever line the project takes.

Will it crack in winter?
It is polymer-modified specifically to stay slightly flexible through freeze-thaw, and fiber reinforced for strength.

How much do I need?
13 to 17 linear feet per 50 lb bag, per the TDS.

Is there anything I should know about handling it?
Wear gloves and eye protection, follow the label, and keep it away from children and pets until placed or cured. Full precautions are in the SDS below.
