Why Contractors Ask for Gator Maxx G2 by Name

If you are buying Maxx G2 a few bags at a time you are paying for it twice, once in price and once in trips to the yard. A pallet is the contractor buy.

  • Joints up to 4 inches on a traditional base, up to 2 in on an overlay.
  • No dust, haze free, no blower, one watering. The G2 formula, in bulk.
  • Rain safe in 15 minutes on a traditional install.

Where Gator Maxx G2 Works

Same product as the single bags, in contractor quantity. Alliance rates Gator Maxx G2 for:

  • Paver patios, pool decks and driveways
  • Commercial hardscape and pavements
  • Natural stone with joints up to 4 in
  • Overlay work over a concrete slab, joints to 2 in

Where Gator Maxx G2 Should NOT Be Used (Straight From the Manufacturer)

Do not sweep it over asphalt, and do not apply to wet or damp pavers or joints.

Do not install at 32 F (0 C) or below. Clay pavers need a test on a dry surface first.

Joints need a minimum depth of 1-1/2 in. Pavers must be fully interlocked and the base must meet ICPI specification.

Pool coping joints must be mortared. Plan for at least a 2 percent slope.

How to Install Gator Maxx G2

The full step by step guide is in the official documentation below. Here is the shape of the job:

  1. Spread. the polymeric sand with a hard-bristle broom and fill the joints completely, leaving a layer on the surface to help it vibrate in.
  2. Vibrate. with a plate compactor fitted with a rubber pad. Expect 30 to 50 percent of the sand to drop on the first pass, then top up and repeat. Never skip this step.
  3. Sweep clean. hard broom first, then soft, until not a grain is left on the paver faces. This is the step that prevents haze.
  4. Activate with water. on a shower setting, starting at the lowest point, until the joints hold water without flooding.

How Much Ground Does a Pallet Cover?

It depends almost entirely on joint width, which is why two jobs of the same square footage can need wildly different amounts:

  • Narrow joints, 1/8 in to 3/8 in — roughly 3,200 to 4,200 sq ft per pallet.
  • Wide joints, 3/4 in to 1-1/4 in — roughly 1,100 to 2,000 sq ft per pallet.
  • Black Diamond covers slightly less per bag than the other colors.
  • Deeper joints and taller pavers both increase consumption.

Quick Answers

How many bags are on a pallet?
49 bags of 50 lb, about 2,450 lb in total.

How does it ship?
By freight rather than parcel, because of the weight. We confirm delivery details and any liftgate requirement with you before it moves.

Is it the same sand as the single bags?
Identical product, just palletized. Same joint ratings, same one-watering install, same 15 minute rain-safe window.

Can I mix colors on one pallet?
A pallet is one color. If you need more than one color for a job, call or text us at (856) 418-4895 and we will work it out.

How much area will it cover?
Roughly 3,200 to 4,200 sq ft on narrow joints, or 1,100 to 2,000 sq ft on wide joints.
