Where Gator Efflorescence Cleaner Should NOT Be Used (Straight From the Manufacturer)
Never use it on new concrete pavers. Wait at least 60 days after installation.
Freshly installed polymeric sand must cure first β 48 hours above 59 F with no rain.
Wear goggles and rubber gloves.
Do not let it dry on the paver surface, and do not apply under strong sun.
Always test roughly 4 sq ft in a hidden area first. Alliance limits the warranty to that area if you skip it.
Store above 32 F (0 C).

How to Remove Efflorescence From Pavers
The full step by step guide is in the official documentation below. Here is the shape of the job:
- Wet the paver surface thoroughly.
- Apply the diluted product with a pump sprayer or watering can, about one diluted gallon per 40 sq ft.
- Wait one minute for it to react, then scrub vigorously with a hard bristle brush.
- Rinse thoroughly and move to the next 40 sq ft section.
- Final rinse generously until there is no more foaming.
Why Do My Pavers Have White Haze?
Efflorescence is not dirt and it is not a defect. Water moves through the concrete, dissolves free lime and salts, carries them to the surface and evaporates, leaving the mineral behind as a white bloom.
- It is most common on new pavers and usually appears in the first year.
- It often clears on its own over a couple of seasons as the free lime is used up.
- Alliance says wait 60 days minimum after installation before treating it with this cleaner.
- Never seal over it. A film sealer traps the haze under the coating and the only way out is stripping.
- If it keeps returning, the cause is water moving through the assembly β check drainage and the base rather than buying more cleaner.
